Director responsibilities

Decision-making on paper publication

The Director and Sub-Director are in charge of deciding the papers submitted to the journal that will be published. Decision is based on the Journal publication norms, reviewers’ judgement, the opinion of the Editorial Board and, in some cases, the opinion of the Scientific Board.

As to claims and appeals by a certain author or a third party after a paper review, the Director will decide if the editorial cycle continues, by either submitting the paper to a new process with different reviewers or rejecting its publication.

In addition, the Director will be subjected to legal copyright requirements, defamation, and plagiarism.

Papers will be assessed according to intellectual quality, unpublished character, and originality.

Conflicts of interests

During the publication process, data and ideas in the document cannot be used for personal advantage by anyone having access to the document, unless it is explicitly accepted by the author.

Confidentiality

Neither the Director, nor any of member of the Editorial board can provide information about submitted papers to any individual or institutions other than author/s, author/authors’ institutions, eventual peer reviewers, reviewers, or other members of the team.

Acknowledging sources

The Editorial board (Director, Sub-Director, production editors, editing secretary, and linguistic reviewers) must identify papers not cited by the authors, but used in the manuscript since every statement in the manuscript must be accompanied by the corresponding citation. If the Director finds that the manuscript is essentially similar to other works, he/she must inform the author.

Post-publication policy

The Journal provides an alternative for discussion and corrections after publication. For this purpose, the author/s can ask for an erratum no later than 7 days after the paper is published in the Journal website. The application for amendments is evaluated by the Director and the Editorial board. Once the application is accepted, a new version of the manuscript will be including corrections will be published.
