Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • 1. The paper submitted has not been published yet and is not currently considered for publication in another journal. If this is not the case, the author/s must give an explanation in “Comments to the Reviewer”.
  • 2. The paper submitted must follow one of these formats: OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect.
  • 3. Whenever possible, provide the reference DOI or URL.
  • 4. Use single-line spacing, police 12 font, italics rather than underlining (except for URL directions). Place pictures, figures, and tables in the proper place in the text, rather than at the end.
  • 5. The text must agree with the stylistic and bibliographical criteria described as “Directions for authors” in “About the Journal”
  • 6. All authors must declare their ORCID (https://orcid.org)

Author Guidelines

It is the responsibility of the authors to consider the Journal's Code of Ethics

1. The first page must include:
1.2. Title in Spanish (Times New Roman 16 font, CAPITAL, bold, center aligned).
1.3. Title in English (Times New Roman 14 Font, CAPITAL, normal, center aligned).
1.4. Name of author/s, affiliation, city, ORCID, e-mail (Times New Roman 12 font, center aligned). In a footnote, not numbered, size 9, make a two-line reference to the author, indicating degree or profession and research lines.
1.5. Abstract in Spanish (up to 10 lines) and 5 keywords (not mentioned in the title).
2. CDT-UCN uses APA 7 norm for citation and bibliographic references. Citations must be included in parentheses in the text. Footnotes must be used for describing further details about translations, sources, etc. A compilation of citations and bibliographical references can be found in web.
3.The paper must be minimum 15 pages long, including Abstract and Bibliography. In some cases, the Director may accept a shorter paper, as requested by the author.
4. Text body:
4.1. Font: Times New Roman
4.2. Font size: 11 for the main text; 10 for citations; and 9 for footnotes.
5. Formal aspects:

5.2. Single-line spacing
5.3. Page number not included
6. Ordinal numbers (1, 2, 3…) and (1.1., 1.2., 1.3…) must be used for titles and subtitles, respectively. Do not use letters, bullets or asterisks. They must be written in bold, normal, sentence format. Example:
7. Papers are submitted to external review by two blind peer reviewers specialized in the discipline, who will inform whether the text can be published, published with corrections or not published. If there is no consensus, papers will be submitted to a third reviewer or the Director, who will make a final decision.
8. Comments and rubrics from peer reviewers will be sent to the author/s, who must respond at a given time, according to the Journal directions.
9. Once the paper is accepted for publication by the Director or Sub-Director, CDT-UCN will respond to the authors within 6 months and will also give them notice of acceptance and publication dates.
10. CDT-UCN is a continuous publication written in a digital format.
11. For editing purposes, the Writing Board has the right to make changes necessary for keeping the Journal editing style.

Papers

Original manuscripts may be of three types.

  • They describe finished or ongoing research projects in full detail.
  • Reflection: They deal with research results, from analytical and interpretative perspectives on a certain topic.
  • They analyze and integrate results from published or unpublished studies on a certain field, giving account of advances and current trends. 

Primae Inquisitiones

"First studies” refers to research conducted by undergraduate or graduate students beginning their academic and publishing path. In this way, future researchers are offered opportunities in their disciplines, by fostering the development and consolidation of discussion and analysis, whose results may enrich human capital from the dialogical perspective of faith, science, and culture.

Authors remain the owners of their papers and may publish them in other journals without asking for authorization, as long as they indicate that the paper was originally published in CDT-UCN (ISSN:0719-8175).
