Abstract

This essay is an approach and incentive for reading the Document of Aparecida. This Document is a pastoral text, but to use it in the best possible way, it is important to understand the theological foundations. Summaries of the inaugural address and the final message by Pope Benedict XVI are offered. In the theological aspect, special attention is given to the Christology, the presence of the Sacred Scriptures, the ecclesial, missionary and psychological aspects of the disciple-missionary. Missionary joy is a fundamental value.
