Abstract

INTRODUCTION: The consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic put the mental health of the world population on alert. In this context, psychometric tools are of great value for a better understanding of psychological suffering in this period. OBJECTIVE: The present study aimed to conduct a review on the psychometric instruments developed and adapted to measure psychological constructs in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. METHOD: A systematic literature review was carried out using Scopus, Web of Science, Science Direct, BVS and PsycInfo databases. Full texts in English, Portuguese or Spanish have been included. RESULTS: The search resulted in 108 articles, 18 of which were selected for analysis. The findings allowed us to identify the instruments available for the psychological assessment of people during the COVID-19 pandemic, enabling a discussion focused on the most recent articles. CONCLUSIONS: The psychometric instruments that have been developed aim to evaluate the psychological impacts variables such as: fear, obsessive behavior, anxiety, stress, beliefs and phobias. The listed instruments serve to identify signs of mental illness, and are therefore tools that can be used to prevent and aid in the diagnosis of mental discomfort.
